Hey all!

I'm looking at buying a Magna on LPG, as a runabout. Budget is around $1500-$2500. I have narrowed it down to a couple of cars I like.

First one is a 1998 (TE) Altera V6 Auto, 242,000km. $2000
The second one is a 1999(TF) Executive V6 Auto, 151,000. $2500

So I know the Altera has the extra options, but they are clearly different models, TE and TF. So I would like to know if the 90,000km difference make much difference on these beasts? And is the TF that much better than the TE? Will be trying to look at the this weekend sometime. :)

Thanks in Advance!

Not an expert, but i would check the gas systems, some are better than others in terms of how they feed the gas into the engine etc... someone with more knowledge can expand on that! In terms of life, things tend to start going wrong between 180-200k in my experience... steering rack on my TS needed work at 180K... so the TE may have had a lot of those things done already, the TF, probably yet to come... a well looked after car can easily reach 350k.

Go the TF if the gas system is better and it has had the timing belt done etc... its got longer to live and you can install options yourself.
