Hi Guys,
Wondering if anyone has ever had a similar issue and knows of the root cause.
The car is intermittently "half -stalling" dropping revs under light acceleration or cruising.
Its somewhat hard to describe but its like the engine stops firing and starts again within a fraction of a second. I have replaced plugs, cap, button, leads....
Any suggestions would be great. Flick me a PM if your confident you have a solution.

How confident can anyone be over the Internet, without seeing the car and doing some basic tests? That is up to you! lol
And why a PM?
I would start with reading the ECU error codes, could be a symptom of a failing crank or cam angle sensor. Then again may not be. Other possibilities may be ignition coil, battery voltage, poor connection somewhere, immobiliser acting up, coolant on the ECU, etc.

Yeah I know what you mean.
And a PM because I lose my posts sometimes :P
From what I have been told by mechanics there is no codes. Cars running what I conseder to be rough but noones really been able to pinpoint why as the ECU isnt registering codes

A dud ignition coil will make the car run rough without setting any error codes.

No solution but I have the exact same problem with my TW. (120,000klm) It appears to be totally random. I cleaned the throttle body last week and that seems to have helped a bit though it has done it again once since the TB clean. Before the TB clean, one day it actually cut out whilst idling at traffic lights a couple of times. I had the headlights and the aircon on at that time. Temp that day was around 26. It just stopped with no warning. Fired up again fine.
Last Sun we did a 350k trip and it ran perfectly the whole time.
Any thoughts from the gurus here would be mosty appreciated.
thanks

Mine is doing the same every now and again only when idling for a period of time with indicator lights a/c on etc. I don't care I just flick it into neutral & the revs go up but my wife drives it.

Right, so bit of an update.
Car has had a good once over now.
Has been taken to mitsubishi to be scanned. no codes. still running "funny"
I am basically in fault finder mode. But I am leaning towards a dodgy intermittent sensor.
Finally found a reliable and convenient mechanic. So am working through as suggested.
Basically a massive PITA but what ya gunna do.
