A lazy question I'm sure but I didn't get a direct search hit...

Did Mitsubishi improve the oil leak problems on the 6G75 over the 6G74?

I smell the waft of burn't oil from my current TJ so it means time to replace whichever seal is leaking, it seems every 100,00oKm (if you're lucky) this happens - seems pretty bad for a 21st century car most of which Never need any oil leak fixes.

The 75 would be the same as the 74. Same design, same gaskets.

100,000 km is about right for the valve cover gaskets to harden and start leaking.
As it is also time to do the spark plugs, plug tube seals and cam belt, and maybe change the ancillary drive belts, I don't see any problem.

Check the distributor seal and the cam bung seal if this engine is installed in a Magna.

Thanks for the feedback, If the 75 was a much better engine re:maintenance I'd have thought about a change - but it looks like it's back to the local spare parts for more gaskets/seals and time break out the spanners again.
