Hi,

What is the easiest way to remove the whole rear left door from my TW VRX?

I had a coming together with a wall in a parking lot and don't want to have my premium sky high for next year so doing a semi-DIY job and cash job.

I'm 90% of how to remove the trim, but the door itself I'm as lost as a tourist! :roflwtf:

Also, some info about the disconnecting & re-connection of power window and locking mechanism.

Thank you

Piece of poo mate, simply a matter of disconnecting central locking, electric window motor and window switch, remove the various clips holding the wireing in, when you get to the wiring protector thingy at the door, first, dont try pulling it out of the door, instead, push it in, then you can turn it on enough of an angle to pull it, and the wiring loom, out of the door

Then its simply a matter of two bolts in each hinge, and off it comes

Install is the reversal of removal, taking note when aligning the door that all shut lines are nice and straight, and you window seals against the rubber, pays to drop the window, then raise it back up with the door closed to check it positions correctly after the window has moved

Open both doors on that side of the car. Find the rubber tube that protects the wiring loom. Gently prise off the rubber grommet on the B pillar with a blunt screwdriver.

You only need to pick up an edge of the rubber, then you can work it off the plastic backing clip with your fingers.

Unclip the white plastic clip and gently slide the wiring out towards you. You will see the cable connector. Unclip this and let the loom hang.

Unscrew the 12mm bolt that holds the door limit strip to the B pillar.

Close the door making sure you don't trap the wiring anywhere.

Now undo the 12mm hinge bolts that attach the door (the door won't fall off).

Now open the door with one hand while holding the top hinge with the other.

Put it on a piece of cardboard or an old towel so you don't damage the lower edge.

That's about it really.

easiest way would be to open the door then reverse quickly past a tree or pole...
