I've been looking for a replacement for the stock twin outlet unit that the last owner put on (because he thought the VR-X tip looked ridiculous), and found this. The seller - who is dismantling a 2002 VR-X - isn't sure if it's genuine or after market - can anyone tell from these photos? Thank you!

He is asking $55 plus freight. Alternatively, could I swap out the rear muffler from the TJ Sports donor car I have, and get a new tip?

dont magna's had 3 bolts at the flange?

Yes they do. That won't be a direct bolt on

Thanks so much for that - glad I didn't go ahead and buy it! Does anyone have any advice about whether I would regain standard power/performance by using the rear muffler from the TJ Magna Sports donor car? I'm not clear about whether it makes any difference that the VR-X has the fat tip.

Well spotted! Definitely 3 bolt flange on both my TJ sedan and TL wagon original and replacement mufflers.

I would not be buying second hand anyway, you have no idea how long it would last.

That's true, MadMax. Might try out the TJ Sports muffler option from the donor car anyway, since it's what I have to hand.

Lukey LR2779 is a direct bolt on if you'd like to consider that - sounds good especially when idling. Below is a photo of a stock muffler and the Lukey, and then what is looks like when fitted.

Looks like my wagon, I think it gives the note a better sound rather than the standard curved downward muffler

No difference between the sports and vrx muffler side from the tip

Thanks for the info about the Lukey, I'll keep that in mind.

If I do give the Sports muffler a go (and I may as well, since I've already got it), can I replace the dual tip with one that will fit the semicircular cutout in the bumper?
