View Full Version : TE what oil to use? , it's got 220k on it.

Hi, as above post. What would you recommend, I'm sure this has been covered before, and yes it probably has worn engine/ valve seals. Thanks for any advice. Mark

I just use the standard oil weight in mine.
and mine has done 350,000

Doesn't seem to burn it as I got rid of the oil leaks.

360,000km on my TH 3.5 - 10/40 was basically two stroke - I'd burn 1L in less than 2 weeks, got best results with Shell 20/50 for "worn Engines" - Red bottle If remember right - also the Nulon - I think it was called "High Mileage" 20/50 was also good.

N.B. I'm in Qld so the 20 may or may not be appropriate for say Hobart....

Hi, I've taken the HPR15 route, I was using magnatec which I think is a good oil(despite what is said on here) but I think it maybe slightly 'thin' if used in a 200k+ engine. Early days yet but will monitor what happens. Thanks again.
