My battery went flat about a week ago (wife left interior light on while I was away for 2 weeks), and when I charged it back up and reconnected it, the dash said "S" which I now know means sedan.
I chose S instead of W (because I didn't know what I was doing) and since then the fuel gauge stopped working.
I read up that I just needed to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset it and choose W instead, so I didn't worry about it.
Also, I have been replacing my stereo in my car, and i've only got to the point of removing the old (aftermarket) stereo, so I haven't wired the new one in yet.
Now, some time in the last couple of days, the dash LCD no longer says anything, the interior light stopped working, there's an "i" alert on the dash, and I can no longer pair my remote keys to the car.
(picture below)
I've checked all the fuses (except for the big black ones, cas I don't understand how to check them) and there was one 10amp fuse that looked weird, so I replaced it with another 10amp fuse of the same type, however, that didn't fix anything.
Something is obviously wrong with the electrics / trip computer or something, however, I have no idea how to diagnose where the issue is coming from.
Also, when I turn the iginition on sometimes, all the dials on the dash (fuel/odo/speedo) all move to their maximum position, then the odo and speedo stay in the middle position for a little bit, the fuel gauge drops to empty, then the odo and speedo go back to nothing.
When I start the car, the odo and speedo work, however, the LCD is blank and the fuel gauge is empty (i have a full tank of fuel).
The car stereo is currently disconnected (the header is just sitting there) and i've tried a few times to disconnect the battery, even leaving it overnight and reconnecting it, with no luck. The LCD display just stays off.
It is weird the interior light doesn't go on either. Also, I noticed when checking with a multimeter, that the remote on lead to the stereo doesn't give 12v, it only gives 0.7v
I've also tried holding the mode and other buttons with no luck.
