Sorry, maybe a bit of a noob question, but ive never removed front seats before...
But, will i need access to get underneath the car? (For unbolting) as Im thinking of getting some verada front seats from the wreckers, but the car is totally dumped on its arse, with no wheels... or are the rails welded onto the body, and you just unbolt off the rail from inside?
Also, in terms of wiring, can i just hook them up to a battery to test if they work? And is there a system of "manual overide" so to speak, if the electric seats are not plugged in etc...?
And last but not least, did any verada Xi third gen, ie the KE, have manual, not electric? I want the leather more than the electrics...
Cheers

Slide seat back, undo two nuts at the front of the seat.
Slide seat forward, undo 2 bolts at the back of the seat rails.
Electrics: unhook the plugs.
Electric seats need electricity to move. No manual backup system.

Ahh, Not overly complicated then but thought id ask just in case... I was reading another thread that said to use the same bolts or genuine mitsu bolts for insurance reasons, so wanted to make sure I could retrieve them from underneath if necessary.
Thanks mate!

lol....you forget..remove the pia black plastic bolt covers...
..have fun getting them off without breaking them ,and ,then getting them back on properly.
Actually ,it is far easier to slide the seat forward ,with the back rest tilted right forward....then undo the rear bolts
Then slide the seat back, and then undo the front ones ,with the weight of the seat leaning forward ,it will be far easier to remove.

Picky, picky there Maggie! (Plastic covers flip off with a flat bladed screwdriver.)
They are heavy things, especially with electric motors, so while we are being thorough (ie picky), make sure your health insurance is up to date in case you do your back in. lol
Also, they are really big, think of how you are going to transport it/them.

easier thing to do ,they are not that heavy ,good grief,is to take out all of the other seats of your car ,pick the others up and install them and lay the old drivers seat on the rear seats ...easy

Take the back seat out of your sedan (assuming you have a sedan), and a pair of new front seats will fit right in, and look COOL as you drive home!
Just be careful working them through the rear door opening, so paint scratches don't happen.

I carried a whole set of front and rear seats in my TH. If you are stuck for space, take out the rear seats as suggested. The front seats with headrests removed will sit upside in the rear with the backrest on the floor. The rear cushions fit along the top of the pile.
