A few things have me puzzled about this car, it has the 2nd glove box in it (were the Airbag is located in later models), it has electric windows and cruise control, also has 2 x interior lights, map lights for the front in a black headlining, also has another interior light for passengers and chrome trims around the window...
It also has a rear wing with brake light and another brake light in the parcel shelf, that is also black carpet ?
I thought if it was in fact an executive it wouldn't have any of this stuff ?
i have a TJ exec and a KJ Verada, so im not sure what stuff the earlier models had ?
can any one shine some light on this stuff (pun intended:nuts:)
Im thinking its an altera , but the black door card inserts throw me
Edit: is had 18: wheels and race seats , so trim pictures aren't helping in my google search

It is just an exec with a few mods.

Sounds like a Altera to me, a lot of them had the extra glove box and electric windows and cruise, no executives had cruise and electric windows in the early 3 gens
It's an Executive. You can translate your VIN using this guide: http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33446

You can search numberplates on the Vicroads:VRE http://vre.vicroads.vic.gov.au/
This gives you the VIN that you can translate

Ok cool, but the guy says it has that extra glove box I have only ever seen Altera's with that plus the cruise and the power windows must be all after market stuff.

The double glovebox, map lights, pwr windows and cruise kind of all point towards it being an Altera. Perhaps the seats might provide a clue as the 98 Exec front seats didn't come with rear map pockets and in the Altera the rear seat backs have inbuilt head rests.

the front seats are aftermarket and the car is from QLD and has some weird engineering plate in the engine bay for RWC up there
must be a weird altera , with different boot etc
as it has exec badges, only paid $350 for it so im happy
