As a regular visitor to a local wrecker, I've seen things go in waves. Initially, only first gens were there, then second gens appeared and the first gens disappeared. Then the same for third gens, they show up and second gens disappear. In another decade or so, there will be no Magnas or 380 left to pillage.

Due to limited space to store older cars, once they need the room for wrecks coming in, the older and stripped bare cars get crushed and shipped off. So don't count on a limitless supply of Magna parts at a wreckers, very time limited.

Buying a parts car is one option, if you can find one, but then you have a storage problem. Local lads had 2 parts cars in their front yard, they built a fence to hide them, but the council (or landlord) made them clean up.

I needed a wiring plug for the alternator, mine had broken off inside the connector. I found one on a 2nd Gen, only 4 2nd Gens there

That's right, regulator plug, the ignition light didn't come on.
