Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has installed aftermarket coolant temp and oil pressure gauges to their car and was aware of the size of the thread they screw into?

I got some Autotecnia gauges and obviously they are 1/8 NPT size, just wondering what size I actually need for the Magna? (would be easy to pull it out and check but I am not infront of the car anytime soon and was chasing an adapter in mean time).

Cheers

I thought coolant was an electric gauge and there was no oil pressure gauge.
So, the question sounds odd.
I find most (all?) threads on the magna are metric. A set of vernier calipers and a thread gauge are quite useful.

Well accoding to the Tridon catalogue online I found, both the water temp sensor and oil pressure sensor will be in 1/8 GAS or basically British Standard pipe, when a lot of aftermarket gauges come as 1/8 NPT. So now off to find some adapters !

If you plug a laptop into the computer you can get the water temp to the nearest degree. Some people have taken this one step further and made a carputer with the display replacing the stereo and 2nd DIN slot. You can put a lot of parameters up on the screen (speed, rpm, fuel trim etc) and make your own custom guages.

Hey Jimbo, this is to be used for a speedway car, so just gauge on custom dash :)
