Interesting story - a friend of ours bought a VN Commodore secondhand. She complained that the cigarette lighter had stopped working and she couldn't charge her phone. She asked me for help. I checked the fuse - blown. Replace fuse - turn on ignition, fuse blows. Start to take out the lighter socket (mongrel of a place for it) and when I was down there, I looked into the hole and saw a blank shiny end. Dig at it with a screwdriver, and out comes a 5 cent coin. Another 3 coins came out before I saw the centre pin of the plug. Replace fuse and all OK. It turns out the her grandchildren had been playing in the car and had found some loose change and also a place to hide it...
