Hey guys I'm back again.
My daughter called me earlier today to come get her as she was stranded, her TJ had overheated.
I replaced the water pump in it when I done the timing belt and tensioners etc, however I had forgotten to replace the thermostat, so before I went to rescue her I bought a new one and fitted it at the side of the road, the car got her home and seemed to be OK, but she just called me to tell me it is doing it again. There is no oil in the water but the system seems to over pressurize, I am wondering if there is a possible blown head gasket that is leaking exhaust gasses into the cooling system???.
I no longer have my pressure test system to check this myself, the thermo is working correctly and I have tried running it with the AC to help cool it with its fan but it is still over heating, it seems fine out on the open road but as soon as you get into town she starts cooking......it's doing my head in....perhaps radiator.....I guess that will be my next option.
Any help would be appreciated.
Terry.
