Hey all,

Thanks for having me in the forum. I have a 2002 Magna Advance that seems to have a strange problem. When ever it rains, the horn beeps intermittently, and the 'Security' light on the Speedometer flickers on and off whilst it is beeping. I've had to since remove the fuse to stop the horn from going off in the middle of the night and annoying my neighbours. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

BTW - By alarm in the title, I mean the horn.

Possible cause:

The wind or rain is enough to trigger the bonnet switch.

Possible test:

Lock the car, grab the leading edge of the bonnet about level with the steering wheel, and gently lift up. If it sets off the horn, continue:-

Possible fix:

Locate the bonnet alarm switch - it is on a bracket, bend it slightly upwards. Check it has a rubber cover on it, if that gets lost or torn this may be there problem.
