Hi guys,
first time poster (very useful forum to read). IN the aftermath of the Brisbane halistorm the other day, my wife found that our driver's side wing mirror was smashed by hail (we also have dome dents but it's not to bad, really, given what others have experienced). I have attached a pic of the assembly. As far as I can see, the motor works and the assembly moves around. Can you tell if I am right to order a replacement glass from an auto glass place and fit it? I wonder if it will be a pain to get it to fit into the plastic lip. All advice appreciated, including suggestions to just get it sorted professionally!

Thanks for that. Will try them out next week. I can get the mirror for $45 on ebay. Question then is whether the fitting is doable by a DIY hack!

Just get a mirror in your car's colour?

I can get the mirror for $45 on ebay.

Check the price the glass at your local Mitsu dealer first. It may be cheaper, and they may fit it for you at nominal cost.

Max do you know if the glass can be bought new from Mitsubishi separately?

It can for the third gen, quite cheap too. Ring them and ask on Monday?

Thanks Max, as my passenger side shows some scratching when light hits it, it would be good to replace it

Replacement glass is about $45 from Mits. It just clips on and takes 30 seconds. If I remember later I'll get the part number...
