Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has ever attempted to make a wagon (or sedan rear bar) a bit lower.

After installing my TL VRX side skirts I've noticed a significant difference in height between the 2.

I know people have modified VRX rear bars onto wagons before although I'm not really a fan of the styling on the VRX rear on a wagon.

I was wondering if it was possible/doable to get another rear bar and chop it up where i've high lighted it in the image and attach them together or am I trying to fight an impossible battle?

Cheers,
John

Anything is possible, all depends on the money involved. Your best bet is it to take it to a plastic welder and see what the cost would be

Simple fix is to track down a set of Sports Wagon spats and maybe modify them a bit if you don't want or have the wheel arch trim

I was looking into getting some although I dont think it'll be low enough to match. Im keen to fit some on the final product.

Im happy to have a go at chopping it up and maybe attempting to fibreglass it with a friend and see how we go. I still want to try and retain the stock look although just with a lower rear bar

How much do you need to drop - I can measure my car as a guide.

Fibreglass will not stick to that plastic, only way to do this is to plastic weld

Thermoplastic joints can be stitched together ( did it with a torn front bumper some years ago and still holding.) with some non rusting wire, a small drill and a magnifying glass on a sunny day.. Drill small holes on either side of join and thread the wire through so ends stick out at back. Twist initial tight to align. With magnifying glass direct sun onto wire on the outside and push it below the surface and tighten.
