I have read everything I could find and couldnt find a solution to my problem.
To back off my handbrake so its not dragging is to have no handbrake at all. The manual suggests backing it off 5 clicks from the disc not spinning. Im backing it off 10s of clicks to stop the dragging. Any thoughts?

Thanks

I'm hoping you don't mean 10 clicks at the brake lever? lol

Have you got the rear calliper off? If not, you need to push the pads in slightly to stop them dragging. As you back off the adjuster at the wheel, keep pulling the arm that works the shoe from the back of the brake. This centres the shoe. 5 clicks on the star wheel adjuster should be plenty. If not, the cable may be too tight - should be backed off at the handbrake when you adjust at the wheel. Failing that, remove discs and clean out.

When both the rear discs rotate without drag, adjust the brake lever to 5 clicks. Don't forget to pump the brake to get the pads pack in place.

Is it squealing? What model?

With my TE I had to have my mechanics constantly adjusting my hand brake as it would always squeal, we got it to a point where it wouldn't squeal all the time but then the handbrake wasn't engaging properly.

I used TL/TW rear hubs and their hand brake mount design, never had a problem since. Not sure if that helps.

Im getting like 10 clicks now at the lever :/

I took the caliper off to isolate the problem and I always loosen the cable first. I understand that could lead to me stretching it and needing to change the whole cable... Adjusting is keeping me busy enough.
The shoes were definitely dragging! I took the disc off, cleaned it out and even sanded the shoes a bit to get rid of the high spots where it was clearly dragging. All to no avail!
I will have to try your centering method. I guess it makes sense.

Its a TJ. It wouldnt squeal unless I was reversing, Id just hear the rubbing constantly. This was with a weak handbrake as well, but tight enough to hold me if I pulled it.
TL/TW hubs huh? Is it a direct swap? Im willing to try if the Mad's method doesnt work out for me.
