Missing a zero there mate, 100,000 was half a million k's back. You'd mean 1,000,000 yes?
600,000 is a damn good effort, very impressed!

Nice, have you had the valve stem seals replaced? how many autos have you gone through?

Impressed - at 360,000 my TH was well - smoking and pretty much all the suspension flopping around exhausted...
what have you had to do to keep the car going?

My KH is at 525,000.
Timing belt is 300,000 old. Suspension is factory, trans is factory, engine hasn't been touched.
Has been running gas for 400,000kms with the addition of a upper cylinder lube system.
I only just dropped the service interval to 7,500kms as it is starting to colour the oil at somewhere between there and 5,000kms.
These things really do last if you give them a touch of love :)

Interesting. My TS approaching 400k. I'm impressed btw. It also has original auto, body of engine hasn't been touched nor much else except recently when I'm going through bit by bit. I wonder if a driving style and or a hands off approach to maintenance is a factor. Perhaps there are units that go through the build on days workers are all getting it right. I thought also perhaps as my 2 94 ts's are both advances and there were only 800 ts advance autos ever built (200 manuals) and they were the last of a generation and they just got it right for certain models. Anyway, well done. I hope to be able to say I got to 600k, or even 599k one day.

You, sir, have a pair of mighty, cast-iron cajones. That's taking a pretty big risk, considering the potential destruction if (when!) it goes.

Although I literally killed my TS, I was very impressed that it got to 250k, considering the lack of love it got :) in the 180k i put on it in 7 years, I only changed the coolant once and the oil 3 times... never replaced the fuel filter, oil filter once, air filter twice... spark plugs and leads once... mhmmm, i can see why it died lol
But I only paid 3k for it with 70k on the clock, and spent about that in parts/ maintenance in 7 years, thought that was pretty good :)
I bet that the OP has changed the oil regularly, and the car has had long runs where it has been up to temperature and stayed there.
Well done mate - you will get to 1000000 km. Have you contacted Mitsubishi Motors and asked for their comments?

Would be cool if they gave you a new one for getting to 1 million kilometers. They could use your car to promote the durability of their cars.

Every thing in the engine is original including head and gasket, stem seals, dizzy and would you believe it the original auto gear box!!!
Things I have replaced, shocks and springs all round that raised her up by 2.5inch has a lovely lifted feel to it, riding on the original 15" alloys original radiator got replaced not very long ago, just been doing regular oil changes every 10k I have never had my gear box serviced I just do a filter and fluid change every 100k, replace the rocker cover gasket every 50k timing belt and water pump every 100k, radiator flush and fresh coolant every 50-80k and I don't use any of the pre mix crap all fluids are penrite all the stuff I do replace could last a lot longer but for my peace of mind just replace it, so I think I Will contact Mitsubish cause this beast is unbreakable she goes through a lot of 4wd tracks too camping and towing all the time best car I have ever bought!
Very pleased for you and to hear that they last that long.
Bulletproof.

Couple of questions spring to mind:
Do you have a transmisson cooler?
Have you had to replace any of the wheel bearings or cv joints?
Is the dizzy cap and rotor button original?
Cheers

You have only had the car since 2013, how many k's have you done in that time?

It sure has been a reliable car, you can't ask much more then that, surprised the auto has lasted so long, my KH Verada has done nearly 270k so I'm expecting the auto to go anytime, hopefully it will last as long as yours has. All the best, cheers

Transmissions are just scary, any bloody automatic I've owned has given me grief. My 4SPD NL Fairlane would slam into second when kicking down, my Vectra would buck at low revs when downshifting at the lights, however my KJ has been pretty good. It's 128,000kms old now and had a trans flush around 6000kms ago, it shifts smoothly no worries, however you can feel the older technology, it kinda lurches in first gear on take off then jumps into second, it feels as if unless you're pushing the throttle hard it just doesn't like it.
Also I've noticed in tiptronic that it hates downshifting from third to second unless it's sub 1600revs, however at high revs it's smooth, it kinda jolts if you're not on the throttle and downshifting at high revs in that gear. Could probably have something to do with almost 13 year old engine mounts, however I do question the health of the gearbox.
Regardless, if worse comes to worse, with 6G75 conversions being such value, that can always fix our trans woes.

The 3rd gen gearbox is retained, only the engine is used in the conversion.

4 speed or 5 speed? And what brand ATF was put in at the last flush?

5 speed, would have no clue what ATF was used, just had a major service done when I bought it and didn't pay much attention to the brand they used. Should be on the service receipts though.

The tiptronic downshift issue seems odd - there is a well known restriction with shifting down into first needing the speed below 50kmh, but I'm not aware of any restriction likely to require a low enough speed to match what you describe.
The ATF may not be helping your shift quality - while many will insist that only genuine Mitsubishi branded ATF should be used, my own experience is that some SP-III rated ATF products can work as well as genuine but there are others that don't...
