just wondering what direction people have faced their subs
just finished throwing in a single 12" kicker sub linkage below
https://www.autobarn.com.au/kicker-12inch-subwoofer-amplifier-with-enclosure-pack
basicly i have enough cable slack to have it sitting under the parcel shelf either facing the boot or facing the cabin but not enough cable to go anywhere else ( for now anyways :D )
im guessing that faciong into the cabin would give the cabin more kick ????
thanks

Control your environment and test different positions.
Eg, find somewhere quiet, stable temperature ect, use the same few songs for the tests (eg, something with a long bass line, something punchy, ect)
Move the sub around.
mine is pointed towards the cabin, simply because i wanted to protect the sub from anything in the boot hitting it.
When there is nothing in the boot i have it in the left corner hard against the rear seat, pointed towards the drivers side of the boot, to my ear it seems better?
There was a Hot4's stereo test about 10 years ago where they tried to find the optimum spot for a 12" sub in a Hyundai Excel.
They ended up finding that it was halfway up the back hatch, pointing towards the roof above the passenger headrest.
Any other position they tried made a small difference but overall was negligible.
You'll find the same in your car, the optimum spot will only be slightly better then the most convenient or best displayed spot.

Most of the time firing towards the back of the boot will work best in these cars, just as a general statement.
No, facing the cabin will not give more kick, some say better quality doing it that way, in these cars I disagree. You will notice more bass firing it towards the back of the boot, it fires into open space and then loads off the boot.

Every cars acoustics are different so what might work in a commodore may not work so well in a magna.. From my personal experience with Magnas I had 2 12's pointed into the back seat, thought they sounded good till I turned them around and they were about 20-30% louder.. Currently I am running them in the corner arches pointed towards each other and up at the boot lid and it seems just as loud as them firing into the boot.. So pointing into open boot space seems to work best for me anyway
