Anyone ever fitted one of these drain valves?
Similar valves are used on some aircraft and I have seen them used on diesel engines on boats.
I am guessing ease of use vs another place you could get a leak.

They are supposed to to fairly fool proof, but will one hang below the sump level and be susceptible to being damaged?
Don't want to run over a lump of wood or a stone etc on the open road and knock it right off, do we?
(Dented sumps are not uncommon, so it does happen - daughter ran over something just dropped by a truck on the open road, ripped splash guards, ripped the front muffler off the pipe behind the catalytic converter, dented sump. No, she didn't stop, hate to have had the sump dump its load at the same time. All she told me the car was making "funny noises" when I got it back, then I had a look . . . $350 for new exhaust parts and a trip to the wreckers for the damaged splash shields and fixed. )
Probably nothing to worry about, but I will stick to the sump plug and spanner method for doing oil changes, thanks.

Quick drain valves have been around for years.
The reason they are installed in aircraft is because light aircraft in particular have oil changes every 50 hours or so - which can be once a week or so for busy aircraft.
I wouldn't consider them suitable for the 6g75, because the sump sits so low. As Max said, any rock or other foreign object could easily displace the tap and you'd run your sump dry. Also, the whole unit would hang below most of the main underbody, and would be susceptible to scraping damage.
I'm surprised at the crappy tap arrangement too. Aviation grade quick drains are normally a twist while pushing in type arrangement which is much more robust. No rock I know can push then twist at the same time.... And the sump quick drain sits high up off the ground protected by the engine cowling.
Yes they are very convenient. But leave them for aircraft is my 2c.
