You can buy a small tube of glue from auto stores made specifically for this purpose, you then re glue it to the windscreen following the instructions.

thanks mate, and would this stuff hold pretty well..

I regulary go up some nasty pothole riden dirt roads and when i get the rare times that the kids arn't in the car i like to give the subs a fair workout .... which im guessing is why the mirror come off lol

The permatex stuff works. Mirror won't come off the glass once it is on without breaking the glass, so be careful to line it up correctly, ok?

The metal mounting plate needs to come off the mirror, glue that and use masking tape to keep it in place. Later, add the mirror. Instructions should be on the packet, anyway.

Mounting plate goes on the centre of the spot on the glass (D'OH) and make sure you don't stick it on upside down! (Double D'OH) lol

ok so because the metal part is still bonded ( very damn well) to the windscreen, and epoxy isnt holding after my attempt to glue the mirror back onto the metal part while still attached to the windscrren i decided to pull the roof lining back and noticed my car does have the screw hole for the mirrors that screwed into the roof instead of the one that sat on the glass...

can anyone tell me what models the ones that screw into the roof with the 3 screws come out on ....

thanks and sorry be being a pain in the ass

Mirror just slips over the metal plate glued to the glass. It's held on by a metal spring clip, which in turn is joined to the mirror by 2 rivets. Have the rivets come undone?

mirror might be missing a few things then, i cant see any springs or rivets

might have to pop out to the wreckers when kids are all at school next and have a look

thanks for those extra details max

Yeah the glue kit I mentioned is for when the metal bit comes off as well.

Maybe put up a pic of the mirror arm where it attaches, cause seems like something here has broken maybe?

Also, I think the roof mounted screws may be to suit second gen magna mirrors, however I am not 100% positive.
