for the past 3-4 weeks I have been having problems with my electrics, yesterday a fuse blew under the bonnet (the bottom one in the little yellow surround) which controls air con, Central locking, interior lights, Ecu and probably a few other things, anyway before that all those electrics thati have mentioned seem to turn off or short out at random times, 50% of the time when I get to my car the ecu has reset itself, and the central locking or interior lights sometimes don't work for a bit.. This morning I had the air con on and the green light was flickering on and off then 5 minutes later I turned it on again and it was fine.. Any ideas as it's very frustrating

Check the charge rate at the alternator for spiking

I have a volt meter in the car and it sits at 14.0 and it never spikes, could the low voltage alternator have anything to do with it? Also have checked it at the alternator when this started happeneing
Definitely a voltage spike of some sort as they should never blow. A voltage spike only needs to be for half a second while you're not looking.
I had two sets of globes blow in my TF within the same week. As soon as the second set blew I knew to replace the voltage regulator on my alternator, 30 minute job and I haven't had an issue since.

The volts are not spiking or at least not showing on my volt meter in the car as while I'm driving I can notice when it flicks to 13.9v or changes at all.. It is something I will look into it though and recheck at the alternator for a longer time

So I was driving this morning and the problem started again, everything turned off but when I turned left or right it turned back in for a moment then back off.. I then turned the car off and back on and it was working fine again.. At that point I thought it was a short so (on a quiet back road) I tried getting it to do it again by accelerating, braking, swerving, going over bumps to see if it would short out and nothing, it's working fine at the moment again..
Think it's about time to get the fuel and matches out and call it a day

Also the volts weren't spiking at any point by during my shenanigans
How very odd. Sounds like it could be a loose connection somewhere. Maybe a dodgy battery or alternator.
I would first be looking for any loose connections in the engine bay. Terminals, main ground to the engine (between engine & gearbox main bolt), relay & fuse box. What are the levels like in the battery? Got a mate with a spare battery you can try?
Resorting to fuel and matches to set the car on fire is a bit drastic no? lol

I will have a hunt later for loose connections and its a brand new batter, the last one died about 2 weeks ago, I thought replacing the battery might have solved it but continued afterwards

No cigars for you.
Hopefully you find something obvious.

Tuned out to be a loose fuse holder (same one that blew) so took 5 minutes to fix and all good now
Super awesome. Glad it was an easy fix. Sometimes electrical issues can be easy like this.

Yeah I was expecting a headache but besides the alternator it was the first thing I checked

I had problems not unlike those and found an ANTS nest under the Under bonnet fuse box, out with the baygon!
