Well, once I get my baby back from the shop, I'm going to hunt down a replacement rear bumper skin.
The questions I have are:
How many bolts hold it on?
Are there any tricky ones to get to?
If I manage to find one with the parking sensors that matches my car, what kind of work am I looking at to get them working? I have an aftermarket Kenwood head unit on my car, and I've never played with parking sensors before. (Though judging by what I did the the skin, I probably need them or a camera)
bumper comes off easy enough, just pull the tail lights out for the secret bolts.
its a bit fiddly around the wheel arches particularly with mud flaps

I'm waiting on delivery of a set of reverse parking sensors, on fleabay for $24. All they'll need is to have the 12v power wire soldered into the active wire of the reverse lights and everything else is plug in. I was looking at a set of genuine sensors but they were $300. They supply a drill, all you need is some sticky tape, a long bit of string and an accurate measuring tape.

I'm generally pretty skeptical about this stuff, but i couldn't find anything that said they're total crap and not worth it. Hopefully it'll be a good saving of $176.
Good to hear you're still enthusiastic about the car

I think you need to paint them the same colour as the bar from memory?

Let me know how it goes.
I know running the wiring to the front of the car will be rather not fun. Are you going to go under the body or through the cabin?
As for being enthusiastic about the car, I have always been a fan of Mitsubishi cars. This is the first one I've owned that's had this many problems with under 500k miles (1m kilometers) on it. Plus I'm a mechanic, I know how things go with cars. I'm just so very used to being able to just get things done without any hassles.

Nah, i bought the blue ones. Hopefully they're close to the same blueof the rear bar and they won't look too bad until i can get the car in for a touch up.
