Would anyone here buy a 1992 2.6 auto with only 83000ks for $1200? Why/Why not?

I used to own a tr manual and really liked it but I've been reading fuel consumption on the autos is off the charts.

Yea my brother used to have a KS 3.0 and the figures were astronomical.

I would choose a later model with higher kms any day of the week. A well serviced higher KM car could be in better shape than a neglected car that's been sitting around for years.

I agree. The first thing I look for is a full logbook, preferably with a fat stack of receipts. That was the main factor behind buying my 216,000km-young TJ wagon.
