I noticed the other morning one of the parking lights was out. I thought i would grab a bulb at the local servo that afternoon but they had everyone except the one i needed. Anyway, i didn,t want to wait until the next day realizing i had similar bulbs in stock from an arcade machine i have so put one of these in. So i was wondering should i go to the trouble of putting in the original type 12v 4w or could i get away with leaving the arcade bulb in, which is 6.3v 2w??

By all means, put it in, but it will probalby blow fairly quickly. The resistance will be about the same, the bulb will glow with the same brightness (probably brighter), but it probably won't last as long.

Yeah it is brighter and for the moment couldn,t be bothered pulling it apart again, as long as i have a working light. Guess time will tell how long it is going to last. Thanks for your thoughts.
