I'm keen for a bit of a challenge. I am planning on replacing my TL interior with a KL leather interior i found on ebay for $800. Since the window switches are on the door for the KL interior i was planning on putting the heating seat switch in the place of the window switches on the door cards, and continue using the center window switches for the windows. (the heating seat switch is the same size as the window switch on the doors)

Of course its just for the front. What do you guys reckon? Good idea or just putting a big head f*** for myself or possibly a burnt out car lol.

Anything is possible if you like re-wiring and reading the factory service manuals for the wiring schematics.
However, what you have suggested is not possible to just switch some switches around, the window system wiring is a bit more complicated then that.

The best scenario for you imho is to have the original KL switches on the front doors in place but not working, essentially there just for looks. The rears will plug in as is and all will still be operated from the centre window switch.

To get you up to speed with the original KL switches working tho is only a few looms, bit of work tho. main dash loom from KL as well as the front door looms (not amusing) and the one that runs across the floor, which is all easy if you have dash out etc. Would be a weekends worth of work for a weekend warrior with mild experience and lots of patience or beer.

I am actually going the other way in the TH so I can have all black interior from a TL VR. I got the looms all ready to go and some small mods for getting a KJ blackout cluster working correctly with the trip meter too. Its a fair PITA I would imagine if you have never been through something similar before tho. Fortunately I have done a fair bit more involving car wiring previously so just replacing some looms is a piece of cake heh.

I've fitted heated seats to my old Xi,

you will need to extend the wiring through the doors to the switch panels. massive PITA. I would be doing the window switches on the doors, as the TL main switch packs die young, and the Verada ones are reliable. As for the wiring, just change the looms. and install your seat heater wiring while you have everything out.
