I should probably say that im pretty new to cars and the only thing iv managed to do was change the spark plugs myself but im getting there , i think.

On a 1999 magna sport iv bought recently i was told when buying it that the cruise control didn't work i found out that the vacuum line the comes from it didn't go any where and where it was meant to go had another hose on it. To make a little more sense I have a random hose that iv got outlined in the pic that seems to go no where i would very much appreciate if some could help me out with it.

Originally the hose circled in red was connected to the object circled in yellow and after some research i found that was wrong but now im left with the hose in red just sitting there and after a good few hours trying to have a look about i couldn't for the life of me see were it was meant to go.

does anyone have an idea where it go's?

No idea.

Generally speaking, people don't unplug these and move them around like you have without good reason.
The reason for the colour stripe on the hoses is so you can identify which hose comes from, and goes to, the right spot. Only by comparing your car to another, or consulting the manual, can you work out which hose goes where.

The yellow outlined bit in your picture is part of the cruise control. It is worked by vacuum from a motor mounted on the inside of the driver's side wheel arch. That's the limit of my understanding. lol

Hopefully someone else can be of more help.

Where does it come from?

I do have a few pictures that might might help this out a fair bit there pretty big though.

It's currently just sitting behind the manifold but then it travels down into a network of other hose's

It then comes out and go's into this, then out of that another hoes comes out that is stripped blue. and that travels back up the cluster of hose's.

It pops back out then heads to a small metal pipe then off to what I a think my be something to do with my traction control.

Better shot of were the blue striped hoes ends.

Do you mean the front end of the hose (where it joins up with the others and goes through the foam channel) goes to nowhere, or the back goes to nowhere (down behind the plenum, between the plenum and the firewall)?

I have a TL with cruise but I don't have that extra line, so don't know. But it might help others to know which end of the one you've circled red.

Now that you've put the vacuum line back onto the cruise control diaphragm, is the cruise working? Have you checked the fuse for cruise control? Have you checked all the electric connections?

The cruise control is working now which is nice and sorry I thought I showed which end was not connected in my later reply. I'll go grab a few more picks but yes the end that's hanging between the firewall and the plenum is not connected.

Smell the end of the hose. If it smells like petrol, it is the overflow pipe from the charcoal cannister. It is meant to hang down and point at the road.

I gave it a smell and it doesn't smell like fuel.
