Hi all. So I installed a Sony head unit in my previous car and it all worked sweet. After about six months it started turning itself on without the ignition on or keys in. I thought originally it was the ignition barrel but since installing it in the magna it is doing the same thing so I'm assuming it is a short in the head unit. Any ideas?

There are two power leads, one for the memory which is always powered up, and one for the main unit.
Check that there isn't a short between the two in the wiring or plug.
Otherwise, it's internal to the head unit, probably the on/off switch. Youcould pull it apart to look at that switch, or just turn the volume off so it doesn't wake the neighbours when it fires up during the night - then again, it is a good opportunity to splash the cash for something new!
