Have a 2000 TJ and have found the doors are absolutely shocking to close!! Feels like the doors are going to implode when they're pushed shut. I figured half the problem was the design, being of a frameless type, but seriously, it feels like the glass is about to shatter sometimes!!

Anyone else had this issue and what did you do? I thought of putting in some sort of cushioning, but that might make them even harder to close...

Any thoughts appreciated

When you shut the door with the glass right up, the top edge of the glass should hit the rubber surround first, then slide up under the top lip by about 1 mm for weatherproofing and wind noise reduction.

Both my TJ and TL can have doors slammed without the glass threatening to shatter, but yours may be misaligned.

There are two white plastic fingers on the glass inside the door that are part of this, if they break the glass doesn't behave when you shut the door. They normally pull the glass hard up against the rubber seal.

Check the manual for the alignment process, it gets complicated.
