Hey guy just curious, I've recently upgraded my sound system and it is sounding absolutely fantastic but im looking to upgrade my door speakers again to a set of FOCAL Access 165AS 6.5" component speakers...
Just wondering whether ill be able to fit the 6.5" speakers in the doors or if ill have to get spacers to make it work?
Oh and how hard is it to wire up a tweeter through the dash and out the top through those little plug things?

First things first, if you want good sound, I would take the plastic factory spacer and throw it in the bin, take it out of the bin trace it onto a piece of 16-18mm Plywood, throw it back in the bin, cut out the plywood and the hole for the speaker and then paint the plywood to seal it. It will provide a more solid baffle for the speaker and you will hear the difference.
Otherwise, depending on the flange on the basket of the speaker you may need to trim the factory plastic baffle, then you wont get such a solid fit and you will be wasting the potential of the speakers. Also ensure whatever you decide to do ensure the speaker mounts solidly and flat to the baffle, and air lost will be midbass response lost, then once again, waste of the speakers.
Talking dash plugs? Wont work properly, the factory speakers had a resistor on the back of them that limited the frequencies the tweeter would play, you will have to run new wiring from the xover to the tweeter and the midbass.

alright so mount them to ply, got it
whats that about the tweeters though? there was no tweeters in there originally so i would be finding a way to mount them myself and no wiring harness either so itd be fresh wire... these are component speakers so they come with their own tweeter?

Componenets yes will come with their own tweeter, you will have to run new wire from the crossover to the tweeter. Some tweeters will come with mounting hardware, some will not.
Tweeters you can either mount either on the a pilllars of probably the best looking spots will be in the removalable covers on the dash or getting some of the sail panels that verada's came out with, these held tweeters and most tweeters will be able to fit in there. The sails IMO are the best spot for tweeters in a basic install.

The wreckers. Find a Verada and take them off, they're only pushed into place.

if like me you find it impossible to find them at wreckers, you can buy them from mitsubishi. not overly expensive
