Hi.

Im new here.

I have a magna wagon v6

the radio just stopped working the other day and the aerial does not go up.

I have checked both the fuses under the bonnet and they are fine

from my understanding there is another fuse at the back of the radio unit.

but I can not work out how to pull out the unit.

the face of the radio comes off. but there are now screws to undo. it seems to just fit in.

do you need special tools to pull it out?

Check the kick panel too, check all the fuses in there, especially the interior light fuse.

The radio usually has a special tool to remove it, it'll look something like one of the keys pictured.
You may have got them with the car when you bought it?
Or more than likely you didnt.
You can drop past any stereo shop, autobarn ect and ask them nicely if they could pop it out for you, or buy a set off ebay.
Without knowing what brand radio you have in there though it might be hard to tell you what ones fit it.
All i would be doing is going to google and putting in "[make and model of radio] Removal Tools" then maybe looking at google images to see what it looks like
You'll find the model number on the face of the radio somewhere eg, KDC-U559BT for a Kenwood unit.
The tool will slip down the side of the radio surround, between the radio and the metal cage it sits in.
Usually you need to remove the thin plastic bezel that fits around the edge. It usually just unclips with a little bit of effort.

in the end it seems like it just needed a hard refresh...

but I found the cigarette lighter fuse had blown when I was checking all the fuses so that was a bonus.

and I bought some pioneer keys off ebay just incase
