I am running 215 x65 x 16 on standard 16 x 7 in sports rims.
I'm looking at replacing them with 225 x 60 x16 and wondering whether the size
will clear all suspension and brakes.
There going on a TJ Sports and has anyone got good reviews of long lasting tires that grip well too. I currently have Pirelli P7s on and they wear very well ( approx 60000 kms ) but I won't rave about their grip.

The tyre will stick out 5mm further and 5mm closer to the suspension than your original tyres, which should be fine, considering VRXs run a 225-section tyre on the same offset, but larger diameter (17") rim.
It will throw your speedo slightly out though, you'll be travelling 1.8% faster than what the speedo reads.

225/55/16 is a good option for 7" rims in my opinion.
Are yours the P7 or the P7 Cinturato tyres (V speed rating)?
I am considering the P7 Cinturato as they have good reviews for ride quality, noise and grip.

Wrong way with the reading, the 225/60/16 will be 1.39% slower.. I personally use to run 225/65/16 which are slightly larger and throw the speedo out by 1.9% faster, but as the average speedo is around 5% out anyway made it more accurate.. Plenty of clearance for the tyre as well

Mine are just P7. Not a bad tyre. Not noisy on the road and grip is ok

The P7 from what I understand is not regarded too well, the P7 Cinturato on the other hand seems to be regarded quiet well
