just wondering how much sound matting you need to do a reasonable job on the front doors?

not entering comps but at same time looking for clean sound and a clean install, dont want to **** around going in twice

looking at autobarn locally they have these stinger roadkill kits

would they be enough for 2 doors?

Yes that will be enough for an "OK" job on the doors, ensure you focus on the outerskin only (the large flat skin that has the exterior door handle mounted to it) and put most of it behind the speaker and then position smaller bits over the rest of the door using less as you get further away from the speaker.

Ideally to do a good job you will use a door kit (Dynamat door kit, im not sure what Stinger calls theirs) and seal the service holes in the door, along with taping up the lock rods to reduce their resonant frequency (how easily they vibrate)

This will help you out.

Just FYI I did a good job on my girlfriends Vy commodore with a $50 Dynamat wedge pack, but those doors are less prone to resonance than Magna doors I would spend a bit more to get a better sound also sealing the service holes its a great thing to do, I cant stress that enough, once you understand why it is so important you will want to do it too.

Let me know if you need anymore info.

Diycaraudio.com has loads of info about Dynamat and alternatives.

Also the reasoned advice is to go for 25% coverage of a panel by using a "gap"' "strip", "gap", "strip" etc method using a good CLV. Proper name is Constrained Layer Vinyl.

Unfortunately Magnas have big front doors with large flat panel area.
Also do a good bit around the speaker mounting area to dampen/stiffen the door inner panel.

I also found that I got a good improvement by spray gluing used carpet underlay all over the inside of the door cards. Plus a used closed cell foam "eggcrate" glued on the inside of the outer panel behind the speaker.
