so yesterday chaning the hoses to the heater core the outlet pipe the boittom broke just near the firewall. my question is can i shove a metal pipe down it and make it sealed properly and reuse the heaters or do i need to remove the whole dash and replace the http://www.swishautoparts.com.au/heater-core-outlet-pipe-suits-magna-hc0050/

i know i can bypass it but having a newborn with no heaters is gonna suck

The trick with removing those heater hoses is to cut along the length of them where they sit on the heater pipes and peel them off gently.
New hoses go on with lots of lube - vaseline for example - but doing it without disintegrating the pipes is still a gamble.

You could try what you suggest, but remember the heater is pressurised to .9 bar along with the cooling system, so it will need to be sealed thoroughly.
Check for leaks in the cabin if you go that way.

Ive done this. I made a brass fitting. It was pushed into the elbow. And was a super tight fit. Then used plumbers putty and put it all in. Drove all summer with it on 44degree days and it held fine.

I dont recommend doing this. Yes it works, but it is not the correct way. I have pictures of what i made up if interested.

Why would you want to remove/replace the heater hoses?

Why would you want to remove/replace the heater hoses?

they where both leaking engine side as the factory screw clamps and there poor design worn into the rubber hose causing it to crack

Pm replied.

I can make these at work and supply all the gear for people who might want this. Making it plug and play. You can have your heater repaired in under an hour.

Ive had mine in my car for 12months. Driven it hard sometimes and towed trailers etc on warm days. Living here in SA we get warm weather, 40+ oftwn Never sprung a leak, never got hot.

*USE AT OWN RISK. THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT WAY TO REPAIR THE HEATER CORE.*

Dash out isn't that hard. 8 hours all done for one person. Including replacing the heater core with seals, and spigots.

Do that.

i have never pulled a dash out before and if rush has a quick fix i can try before having to do that il try it as the weather here in SA is pretty shit atm and cant make its mind up. if it holds till summer ill do it all then
