Can any member please tell me if a 2.6 TR or TS carby model distributor would be a suitable replacement for my carby TP distributor. Specific TP carby model distributors are as rare as rocking horse droppings, it seems! Thank you for any info that may be forthcoming.

Magna Buff will know for sure but I can't see why not unless the connectors are different. Distributors for efi models are definitely the same. Brand new aftermarket ones are plentiful on eBay at quite reasonable prices and usually advertised as being for TM, TN, TP, TR & TS. Unfortunately aftermarket carby distributors are almost non-existent. I've seen them on rare occasions in the past but they were quite expensive.
Actually, just found a brand new Bosch one on ebay for $149 but it is described only as for TR and TS: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/distributor-mitsubishi-magna-tr-ts-carby-model-BOSCH-9230064548-/321538138019?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item4add2a9fa3 They're in North Parramatta so you may be able to call in and check it out. There's a used one for TR & TS for $50 in Victoria but includes free postage: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MITSUBISHI-MAGNA-TR-TS-CABY-4CYL-1991-1997-DISTRIBUTOR-/331492130288?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item4d2e787df0 Ah, I see magna buff beat me to it. Good luck.

I hope so, I have fond memories of my TP wagon. Heaps of room in that.
(Lent it to my son, then it just disappeared one day - I assume he sold it. I was too far into shock to kill him, at the time, but should have.)
