Any way to adjust the amount of travel?

Have the wiper arms been off at any point? (to repaint, or replacing the leaf guards, etc), they may have been refitted incorrectly.
But, in answer to your question, no. The only adjustment is taking the arms off and repositioning them.

The linkages for the wiper arm motor may be wearing/worn, resulting in slack or excess movement.

Move them down the screen a bit when in the parked position.
