I was going up a road with about a 35-40 degree gradient when the lights ahead went red.
I had enough momentum to coast on and out of interest i thought i'd slip into tippy mode to watch the gear incicator count down on the dash.

Well it went 3-2-4-1! When it went to 4 i only felt a slight hiccup through the body.
Bit weird tho?

Fuzzy indeed. Is it typical?

I doubt you will see it often. However also keep in mind that the shift LEDs are sometimes set noticeably before the shift actually takes place (I have noticed on occasion up to about half a second but usually much less). So the TCU code can make a decision, set the shift light, reevaluate the decision, set a different shift light, then execute the finally chosen shift. Not that I'm saying this happened in your case here...

Ok, cool. I was wondering if it had do something to do with the angle the car was at. I'm guessing there may be a hill sensor somewhere? but i dont know.
