Just curious about putting LEDs in the climate control, I've put 4 LED's in both the outer T5 slots and the inner T4 slots.

Now the outer LEDs work fine its the inner LEDS i'm having difficulty with. From what i understand when the headlights aren't turned on the LEDs light up the climate control display fully but when you turn the headlights on the LEDs are supposed to dim a little on a screen same as with the instrument cluster, however with the LEDs they completely shut off and their is no illumination at all. It shouldn't be a polarity issue as the LED's are operational when the dim effect isn't on.

They won't dim because of the difference in resistance.

I had the same issue using an LED strip when I had it soldered to the board so I ran it to a switch and found power elsewhere.

Im having trouble recalling what the deal was exactly, but I believe the voltage at the cc board is a lot lower than 12v and dimming it is taking it below the minimum the LEDs require. I use the earth off the cc board to still dim when its called for, but the positive is from a wire that travels to a 12v source that plugs into the cc (one of the two plugs). The led strips line up pretty well over the two holes and a bit of silicone holds it into place. Youre welcome to come and grab one if you like (or I could post it)... I have too much really.
