Hi all just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem that I have with brake lights not working only the centre LED. Also the cruise control not activating. I have replaced the brake switch and checked fuses. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I know the cruise control has something to do with the brake lights.

I had Led bulbs in my KJ tail lights and my Cruise control would not engage. Replaced LED bulbs with regular bulbs and the Cruise worked again.

I had same issue with 380 and LED stop/tail globes

No cruise and enough leak back from stop globes that park lights and dash lights would come on with brake lights

Both out seems strange - checked both globes? and wiring plugs etc behind LH taillight?

You may need to look into load resistors.

Guys, I don't think OP has LED bulbs in his left and right brake lights. He means the centre boot lid one works but the outer ones don't. However, I didn't think the 380 centre boot lid brake lights was LEDs unless OP replaced them with LEDs.

Yep, centre brake light globe on a 380 is an ordinary bulb not LED.
I know because I replaced it on my old 380 a few years ago.

Maybe on the povo models, but THE early VR-X and GT are definitely LED

You may need to look into load resistors.

Don't think that will work mate, a resistive load will be down to earth, which brings the voltage closer to approximating the brake pedal pushing.
Brake pedal pushing cancels cruise control...:)

It needs a high impedance sense such as a driver transistor...an amplifier of sorts.

Load resistors which simulate current draw of 21W globes. Impedance is for AC whereas we are dealing with DC.

Presence of +12v on brake light circuit cancels cruise control - not a separate switch at the pedal

LED globes seem to be interconnected between both circuits - lights on puts +12v on tail light which also appears at brake light connector on globe and cruise control releases

And in some cases vice versa - brake lights on and 12 v appears on tail light connector to switch on dash lights etc

I think a pair of inline diodes (electrical one way valves) are needed to stop feedback into the other circuit

Didn't say seperate switch :)
