Hi All,
Just wondering I have a 2003 TL Magna S/wagon, My problem is when i have the headlights on and drivers side blinker on and I brake, My blinker flashes quick like there's a short or fault of some sort.
Has any one herd of this fault and know the solution?

Probably one of your blinker bulbs has a bad connection - old school (aka not electronic) blinkers speed up when a bulb blows as they use the load of the light bulb to time the flashes, the - slight unless you drive like a taxi driver - G force of breaking is juggling the bulb and losing contact so I'd suggest removing all the blinker bulbs (even side markers) and make sure the sockets and bulbs are clean - you can use cntact cleaner or metho on a cotton bud.
Just a suggestion - my 20 Cents less GST contribution......

Does this problem happen when you have your headlights off? If so check that both driver's side blinkers are actually working. As said above by bb61266 bad contact or blown bulb would be where I'd start. Hope that helps.

This Fault only happens when the head lights are on!
Check the earth connections at each corner. The extra current when the headlights are on is causing problems. Clean up all the earths and you will probably cure the problem.

... and I brake, ...
Just to clarify, does it only do this when the car is moving, or also when stationary? The reason I'm asking is to isolate whether the problem is related to movement or power to the brake lights. Regardless, check all globes carefully. Brake light filaments can break and drop on to the tail light filament, causing current to sometimes be where it shouldn't and do some pretty weird shit. When it happened on my TJ, the effect was the dash illumination dimming when I pressed the brake pedal. Took some time to isolate the cause!

OK, that suggests the fault is related to power going to the brake lights rather than physical forces acting on something. Next question: does it also do it with only the parkers on (first click on the headlight switch) rather than full headlights? I suspect Erad is right, that it's a bad earth connection most likely at one of the rear light clusters. I suspect that with the earth failing, the blinker is getting an earth through either the brake or tail light circuit to an earth on another corner of the car. With both brake/tail filaments on (ie. when braking with headlights on) there is no longer an earth available and the blinker fails. If this is the case you'd probably see one or other of the brake/tail light filaments glowing a bit each time the blinker lights up when the lights are off and brakes not applied.
