I've tried finding anything on this but i've had absolutely no luck. Just wondering if anyone has seen a shifter with this issue lol

When you put it on the spline it sits diagonally, i see no way of moving the keyhole to align it and nothing on the shifter is loose so i fail to see how it ended up this way. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated because at some point i want to sand it back, refinish it and actually get some use out of it.

Im just hesitant to force it but it seems the only way to get it straight is to damage it :S

Ok quick update: I managed to get the metal free from the rest of the wooden handle although i did incur a small chip on top of the shifter, im taking it to a place that specializes in wood repair tomorrow and hopefully by next week i'll be able to whack it on.
