What's the difference between the 5 speed auto in my 2001 sports to the 5 speed tippy in the TL / Tw. Don't they both hook up to the 3.5 litre.
I've noticed Mal selling some but advertising them for the later models.

I think the difference is where the speedo takes its info from. On the pre TL/W models the speedo gets it's info from a sensor on the gearbox whereas the TL/W models get the speedo info from the ABS system. To fit a TL/W gearbox into an earlier model one would probably need to look at changing wiring harnesses & probably the ECU.
