Just after some help. I have a 94 v6 verada as a runaround and was coming home the other through the hills and the headlights flickered and then went out. I checked all connections and the relay and still had no lights. After about 20 min. the lights worked again for the trip home. I thought it might be the relay because it looked like it had got warm around one of the terminals. Sprints wanted $$$ for an genuine relay , does any know if I can replace it with a non genuine relay and if so , what sort ?

Did you lose ALL the lights? I had a similar problem in my Pajero but it was the light switch stalk. I think I still had high beam but I can't remember exactly.

I have a 94 v6 verada
Would that make it a TR or TS, ie second gen Magna?
From memory, the low and high beam relays are the same, just swap them over. Look at the part numbers to be sure.
Next time it happens, work the high/low beam stalk a bit, and see if it comes good - it may be the contacts in the stalk itself.

I still had parking lights but no headlights and tried moving the high/low beam stalk as well. After the car had cooled down a bit while i was waiting for a lift back home the lights came back on. When I tried the lights the next morning they didnt work.
Im chasing up another relay later today and will re check all the connections. Thanks for the help , will let you know how it goes.
