Not until the last few months has this become a problem.
The driver side seat belt is having a hard time retracting.
I've tried cleaning the belt in warm soapy water, and it still doesn't really seem to want to retract unless I give it a bit of a hand.

I was thinking about pulling the whole mechanism out, but cant even manage to get the trim off that covers it all up.

Anyone else had this problem or know the best way to go about fixing it?
Thanks

Never had a problem with the retractor mechanisms in the TL/TW's but as the seat belt is fitted with pre-tensioning as part of the SRS system is best you take it to Mal at Mitsfix or a Mits dealer for them to check it out.

Here's a bit of general info on pre tensioning systems

Just replace it completely, not expensive.

trim needs seat belt bolts removed.

disconnect battery first :)

I had the same problem with both the front seat belts. Has done 118k. I WAS going to try to have a look at it myself but the car was due for a service and I kind of couldn't be bothered anyway so got Mistub to have a look. $70 and they fixed them both up.

$70 isn't too bad to get someone to fix both of them up!
I'd be happy to pay that.

New retractor mechanisms are $90 each on eBay...
