View Full Version : Oil leak suddenly, need advice/input ASAP!!!!!!! We are stranded!!

Heya, this is not my car but my mates 380. We where having a poke around undernearth for a 10mm spanner, anyways we found this oil leak we have no idea what part it is....we washed the oily area, drove for 10mins and re-checked it and it was leaking again....i cant see any SUDDEN loss of any oils...
Im tossing between power steering pump, oil pump or even possibly a bad CV joint....
Please need your advice asap as we are very far away from home and my mate doesnt wana drive with this leak....is this saafe to drive?? Need input/advice ASAP!!!!

Looks like the power steering pump is leaking. Have you checked the power steering reservoir?

Yep checked it, seems fine, the oil is a really dark brown yellow colour....is that part where the oil is leaking from the power steering pump or something else??

the ps fluid in the resiover is RED and smells sweet, the oil coming from the ps pump area is YELLOWISH-BROWNISH-TARNISH colour, cannot smell it becuase of the crap around there....

Just check all the fluid levels under the bonnet and drive on.
Keep an eye on them, whichever drops is your leak.
might be brake fluid.....
