I had a choice to buy a TF V6 sedan with a manual gearbox for $100, vg body, 6g72 12 valve, runs well, 210000k's and took it. (I also got separately a full (near mint!) mits workshop manual for it.) Too good to pass up imo.

The gearbox, I've been told, has dropped a pin in the diff. Which, I gather, explains the price.

If I can find one, I'd like to buy a working box, put that in and then rebuild the busted one.

Does anyone know the range of Mitsubishis ( models, years ) that uses the F5M51 ( -1-F5N ) Manual Transmission. The mitsubishi part number is MD976244

The workshop manual covers the TE-TF Magna and the KE-KF Verada models that use this gearbox.

mitsipedia says : "The F5M51 is a 5 speed manual transaxle used in the TE through TW Magna and the DB 380 with V6 engines and front-wheel drive.".
the local mits dealer says not so easy as there are variants of the F5M51, hence my putting the full number in the workshop manual in brackets above and the mits part number he supplied. No idea how relevant.

I use TE-TF gearboxes on my 6G74's (one of my 6G74's is from a KJ and one is from a TW). So I believe they fit across the range except the 380 gearboxes, you will have to confirm that one with Mal though, I believe there's a little bit of work involved if you want a 380 GB slapped on.
