Hi everyone,
Just had new pads put in,front and rear (Bendix). They work well at all speeds except for one problem.
At really low speed like just pulling out the garage they make a kind of groaning sound.Seems to be just taking foot of brake.driving normally they are silent and work well.I thought maybe they might just need bedding, highway and high speed and real heavy braking and repeat.Any ideas ?
Thanks

If they work well they don't need bedding in.
Some pads do a low speed groan if you press the pedal just right, but I blame it on the pad material, and its harmless.
. . . unless the mechanic left the shims off the back of the pads?

Thanks for the replies.
Looks like I will just have to live with it,for a while anyway.I'm glad its more than likely just the pad material and harmless.
Does ruin the smooth refinement of the machine though.I will eventually get that brake control and finesse just "right"...hopefully.

You say Bendix but not the compound. Were they AD's ( advance ) or the later GCT's with the ceramic bedding in strip ?.
The AD's were notorious for what was refered to in the industry as graunch and some part numbers were much worse than others.
Most brake specialists would put a chanfer ( excuse spelling if i got that wrong ) on the leading and rear edge of the pad and a bit of quite goop on the back of the pad to assist reduction in graunch and squeel.
