Hi all,
Being new to Free adey ownership I have couple of questions, one being tyres.
Seems the PO ran the tyres at 36 psi.Is there a reason for this?I always ran my magna at 33psi.Does the 380 wear tyres on the edges?
What do guys run,for best wear and handling?
And now for an out there question. Which tranny do you think would last longer, one constantly tipped or one left to its own devices?Just a thought, anyway cheers guys.

You haven't mentioned the size of your 380's tyres, and those of the Magna you owned previously
If they are a different diameter or width, they can influence what psi is appropriate for the tyre.

I put 40psi in my Magna sedan with 225/45R18 tyres, and 36-38psi in my Magna wagon with 225/50R17 tyres; however, my commute is mainly motorway/highway.
15" tyres will be closer to the 33-34psi you mentioned.

In my mind, for a standard 380 either of those pressures would be within an acceptable range. If it were my car I'd probably run 36 front / 34 rear which I think would be a good trade-off between wear, handling and ride.

I run 38/36 or 40/38 f/r in my 380 (depending on what mood I'm in) but that's with 245/45/18 tyres.

As to your second question - 380 transmissions seem to have held themselves out to be pretty reliable, but I would have said that a tranny with regular fluid changes would last longer and shift smoother. If you've recently bought the car and the fluid looks at all dirty I'd be inclined to change it with some genuine fluid.
