As the title states, i'd like to know as many possible options that people have tried on magnas that will fit reasonably well :) anything around the 17x7-18x8.5 range that can pass for OEM at casual glance.
List that i'm aware of:
CJ Lancer VRX/XLS wheels 18x7s
Lancer EVO 7-8-9, possibly X with a bit of massaging.
Mitsubishi Outlander VRX 18x7s

Evo X wheels definitely fit on a 3rd gen, there's been at least two forum members (Lugo and someone else who's name escapes me) who have run the BBS wheels on their 3rd gens. As you say clearance could be an issue (being 8.5" wide) but narrower tyres probably assist.
AU and onward Falcon wheels will also fit provided a centre bore spacer is installed. Some of the XR and G6E wheels look pretty reasonable on 3rd gens.

Pretty much any OEM Mitsubishi 5-stud will fit. Lancer, 380, Outlander, ASX, pretty sure D5 Delica ones also fit.
Most late-Toyota, Honda and Nissan 5-studs won't fit without machining the hub bore out.
Many late-Mazda 5-studs will fit, but be careful with offsets

Cause i'd like to start a big definitive list of them... i.e. what ones have the right bore, what ones don't (and what mm it needs to be drilled to), which ones have offsets that need to be addressed when fitting and such. It's a shame that Euro wheels are mostly 5x120... otherwise i'd be rocking some wicked RS5 or TTRS ones :D

Not much you can realistically do to address offset - it's gotta be right from get go.
I'd also be curious as to the cost of drilling out the centre bore on smaller wheels - would it make purchasing such wheels a cost effective exercise?
If you are looking for some Euro-look wheels, have a look at TSW. They aren't cheap but they make some very stylish wheels and a lot of them are available in 5x114.3.
If you want some special wheels then get some carbon fibre wheels from Carbon Revolution in geelong.
they are making the wheels for the new Mustang worldwide supply.
Should work on a Mitsubishi....very light too.
quality comes at a price of course....

To get centre bore machined out on 4 wheels is going to cost around $100-$125, maybe $150 tops.
I have had it done before on some oem wheels and aftermarket wheels with no problems.

I think most Hyundai wheels fit and late model Hyundai alloys are some of the better looking ones as well.
