hey all got an issue that has me stumped. it's my te that has full th looms btw.

start car. and all is normal. till a minute or so the check engine light appears.
read the codes and its coming up as code 25 (code 25 "barometric pressure sensor") im guessing this means MAF ?

replaced maf with another 3.0 th unit i have.
same issue. this one has a alledged 140 thou on it where my original th one has 385 thou on it.

disconnected the battery for a couple of hours and no change.

however if i refit the original te maf (3.0 v6) it does not throw the check eng light but its a gutless pig.
if i scan for codes it still shows the code 25.
and flatspots badly on petrol when cold.

but if i fit the low k th unit it goes well on both fuels. hot and cold..

anyone got any idea's on what to do?

Does the CEL only come on when you are running on LPG?

If so, the ECU is looking for an injector pulse, obviously on gas there isn't one because the injectors are turned off. You need an injector simulator, as the name suggests it sends a signal to the ECU that mimics the pulse. This keeps the ECU happy.

Had this problem with my old 3L TE. (My first Magna) If started and run on petrol it was all smiles. Change to LPG and it would throw a code straight away.

The CEL made no difference to performance so I just learned to live with it.

If this is the issue with your car, have a yarn to a good gas mechanic.

Hope this helps you out pal.

This is a simple fix

Forget your 3.0 MAF, IF you have ALL the looms INCLUDING engine loom from the TH then you need the TH or TJ MAF, the early MAF from the TE and TF do not have the barro sensor so putting a new one in will do nothing

hi mal i had a alledged th maf fitted as it was from the parts car.
yes all the looms including ecu are th. from a 2000 model iirc

ahh that explains why the te one was playing up worse. i'll mark it so i don't refit it if i forget..

the spare th one i have is a unit i got from the wreckers. unless they weren't aware they were different and i got a te tf unit.
oh well something to ring around on a replacement perhaps..
